LG Launches EXAONE 3.5, Open-Sources Its AI to Boost Innovation
LG has introduced its latest AI model, EXAONE 3.5, and it’s now open for everyone to use. Researchers, developers, and businesses can access the model, explore its features, and even improve it. LG believes making the model open source will speed up innovation and help people find more ways to use AI in everyday life. EXAONE 3.5 is smarter than its previous versions and does a great job of solving problems, handling long texts, doing math, and even coding. The model was tested on 20 benchmarks and scored among the best in the world. In order to be appropriate for various types of activities, LG has developed three sizes: small, medium and large. The smallest one performs elementary work, the medium one general computations, and the largest one deals with more complex and responsible tasks. Therefore, EXAONE 3.5 can be applied in both simple applications and highly complex research.
The best feature is processing long texts. It can handle up to 100 pages at once, which is very useful for things like document analysis and summarization. The model is also designed to give accurate answers by using real-time web searches or uploaded documents. If a question is complicated, the AI can break it down into smaller steps so that its answers are understandable and logical. In addition to EXAONE 3.5, LG has launched the New Tool called ChatEXAONE. The AI assistant can be used by LG employees to help them in daily work. With ChatEXAONE, tasks such as summarizing documents, translating languages, preparing reports, and even coding are all supported. It is designed with strong security features so that employees can engage without fear of data leaks.
Some features of ChatEXAONE are quite unique. “Deep,” provides detailed step-by-step answers to very complex questions. Another feature, “Dive,” allows users to narrow down their search to types of information, such as academic papers or general web sources, for more targeted results. It can even process long documents and conversations too-up to 23,000 words at a time. LG plans to enhance this further next year, making the tool even stronger.
EXAONE 3.5 doesn’t mark the end for LG. Instead, the corporation is already in the process of developing an AI system that can think independently and take decisions based on its own judgment. Looking forward to a year from 2025, this new project represents a part of LG’s upcoming generation of even smarter AI systems.
