SavorEat’s Robot-Chef 2.0 Receives U.S. Safety Green Light
The UL certification means that the robotic cooking system has met all of the safety and performance testing requirements set forth by UL (Underwriters Laboratories). The organization that tested the Robot-Chef was Intertek, one of the eminent testing labs in the U.S. The UL Certification is a big deal because it is the certification that states that the Robot-Chef can safely be used in real commercial kitchen settings like restaurants, hospitals, schools, etc. This isn’t simply a paperwork exercise for SavorEat — it’s really the green light to go live in the U.S. food space. The company already has other important certifications such as NSF (food safety) and EMC (electromagnetic compatibility), but this UL certification rounds out the entire portfolio to go live.
SavorEat, Rachel Vizman CEO considers this milestone as the transformation of the organization from research & development and testing to real commercial operation. “This is not about technology,” she said. “This is about technology being employed to create delightful experiences, with presentation, having chef quality food personalized for each person, and allowing kitchens to save money. The Robot-Chef 2.0 is not a gimmick – it is a smart, compact appliance that can prepare complete meals, side dishes and deserts, and is designed to achieve optimum hygiene, accuracy of uniformity and will cook food as people prefer. Just imagine having a robot prepare a meal for you – made to your specifications – at the press of a button.
CTO Shai Sultan further added that version 2.0 is a giant step forward. It has a modular design, so it’s simple to update or modify, and it’s constructed with increased safety protocols. And, it can be easily accommodated in numerous types of environments — from hospitals and schools to big food chains.
In a nutshell, SavorEat’s Robot-Chef isn’t really about automation — it’s about blending technology with one of humanity’s most human activities: dining. And now, with complete regulatory clearance, it’s poised to deliver meals — safely, efficiently, and personally — throughout the United States.
