Lost Luggage? Lufthansa’s Apple AirTag to Enhance Baggage Tracking
FRANKFURT, GERMANY, 6th February 2025 – According to the latest announcement from the airline group, their passengers are now able to track their checked luggage in real time using Apple’s Find My app, thanks to the integration of AirTag technology into its baggage handling process.
This change aims to add more value to traveling by offering improved control over the belongings of passengers. The innovation allows Lufthansa’s systems to receive location information from the passenger’s AirTags, which enables laptops and desktops to provide digital assistance in tagging the bag.
The partnership between Apple and Lufthansa is another step forward in applying technology in the service industry.
In their explanations, Lufthansa pointed out the benefits of this integration: “As a result of garnering information from digital AirTags, baggage tracking will be much more efficient.”

Passengers are asked to include an Apple AirTag with their checked luggage.
