LG & LogisValley to Power Smart Logistics Future
The agreement which was signed at LG Digital Park in Pyeongtaek, Korea, expands on co-developing next-gen logistics centers based on artificial intelligence, robotics and virtual simulations which is referred to as digital twins. The two companies will take their own strengths, LG more on smart factory technologies and LogisValley more on logistics center operations, to deliver improved, faster and more efficient logistics services.
LogisValley operates more than 50 logistics centers around the world and has significant experience constructing and managing logistics centers. LG provides industrial robots, vision AI, and digital twin systems that they already used in their factories and will also be deployed in warehouses and logistics centers.
One area of particular attention will be in automation. LG has robots, including mobile robots with robotic arms, that will help with picking, packing and sorting packages with speed and accuracy. Improved speed from use of robots will help to reduce human error and increase the ability of fewer human workers to do more while reducing the need for manual labor. LG’s AI tools provide QA checking on packaging quality and support better warehouse organization and space management.
They use digital twins which are computer made versions of physical warehouses. The digital twins allow LG to brainstorm how the materials move, optimize which robots will operate where, and consider operational hindrances that may come up – all before costs can accrue toward physical construction.
The solutions will be deployed not only for clients but also within LG and LogisValley’s own centers – to be more efficient. Clearly there is also a bigger commercial opportunity represented in the partnership. Industry experts expect that the global smart logistics market will climb to more than USD 212 billion by the year 2032.
In addition to the new logistics plants, LG and LogisValley develop a luxury hotel and shopping center in Hanoi Vietnam. LG will supply commercial display technology such as FRLs (flipboard interactive whiteboards) and other AI-driven systems, as well as premium hotel televisions with the ability to utilize Apple and Google casts.
Both firms believe this collaboration would bring more innovation, efficiency, and competitiveness domestically and globally. While the technology continues to evolve, the vision is simple: intelligent logistics that are faster and more reliable.
