Lenovo announced today that it moved up two spots to eighth in Gartner’s Supply Chain Top 25 for 2025, which recognizes global companies that have shown excellence in supply chain strategy, operational execution, and innovation.

These rankings recognize Lenovo’s multi-year transformation of their supply chain, which is now fully connected with artificial intelligence (AI), to create stronger global responsiveness, efficiency, and resilience.

“At Lenovo, our mission is to create Smarter AI for All,” says Che Min Tu, SVP and Group Operations Officer. “To build the kind of technology our customers expect, we need to lead by example within our own business. By integrating AI across our global supply chain, we’re not only able to support the growing business demand, but also improve the customer experience, and cut order-to-ship times in what is arguably one of the most complex and dynamic global business environments.”

For the last eight years, Lenovo has invested in the digitization of their supply chain processes — to standardize planning, digitize procurement, and improve visibility in logistics. This benefits not only operational efficiency, but the company’s overall Environmental, Social, and Governance Commitments (ESG).

AI is now at the center of Lenovo’s global supply chain infrastructure. The company has assembled a team of more than 75 skilled and innovative researchers, comprised of 22 PhD’s and experts dedicated to developing AI specific tools for this purpose.

Through these tools Intelligent Production Scheduling, Predictive Analytics, and Decision-Making Optimization, the company can plan better and resolve issues faster while also making improvements to service quality and warranty performance through AI-powered customer sentiment analysis.

Guan Wei, Senior Vice President and Global Supply Chain Head said, “AI is making a real difference: We’re seeing improvements in planning accuracy, production responsiveness and overall customer satisfaction.”

Lenovo has over 30 manufacturing sites with multiple facilities across eleven markets worldwide. It also has flexibility to adapt and respond to supply chain disruptions quickly and has a global presence in Asia Pacific, China, EMEA, and the Americas. Earlier this year, Lenovo began building a new manufacturing base in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in partnership with Alat, with the plan to begin manufacturing operations in 2026.

“We are no longer just focused on resilience but anti-fragility. We want to come out stronger from every disruption.”, said Ben Massie, Vice President, Global Supply Chain, Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group.

Gartner’s rankings factor in going the extra mile in both quantitative business performance and ESG metrics and taking into account peer and analyst opinion to provide a comprehensive understanding of supply chain leadership for the world’s biggest enterprises.
