Databricks Teams Up with Harbr Data to Boost Data Marketplace Efficiency
London, 22nd January 2025-Harbr Data and Databricks have established a strategic partnership to further develop scalable data marketplaces.
This new partnership combines Harbr’s marketplace with Databricks’ Data Marketplace Intelligence Platform, focusing on the two key challenges of managing large datasets and stringent data governance protocols.
This partnership extends the ability of enterprises to manage their entire data lifecycle more efficiently, in a securely controlled environment.
Notable innovations are zero-copy data sharing, a means to reduce repeating storage and operational expenses, a federated data architecture that supports interoperability across different technologies, and the sharing of copy data.
Using Databricks’ Delta Lake, teams can effectively and efficiently process and analyze data, while Harbr’s platform provides access to categorized information through an intuitive self-service interface. This advancement brings higher returns on investment in a shorter amount of time.
Co-founder of Harbr Data, Anthony Cosgrove, remarked,
“This partnership democratizes data access while ensuring governance and security at scale.”
He was corroborated by the Director of Technology Partner Management at Databricks, Ariel Amster, who said,
“Harbr’s innovative approach will streamline how business users turn raw data into actionable insights.”
Through the adoption of this solution, organizations will gain multi-dimensional value through improved collaboration between technical and business users and allow them to exploit their data ecosystems without compromising governance.
With this partnership, new horizons are set to be explored in enabling the provision of data services where the marketplace for the data itself shall be transformed. Scalable, efficient, and secure data solutions for enterprises are the future of the world.
