Isuzu and Fujitsu Partner to Launch Software-Defined Vehicles
YOKOHAMA & KAWASAKI, JAPAN 15TH APRIL 2025- Isuzu Motors Limited has signed a strategic agreement with Fujitsu Limited to accelerate the commercialization of software-defined vehicles for mobility in crucial logistics problems and transition to a sustainable mobility society.
Isuzu, as a commercial vehicle specialist, will combine its people with Fujitsu’s innovative digital technology to jointly develop systems for software update improvements, educate technical software professionals, and develop infrastructures.
A major focus will be on strengthening their GATEX platform, launched through their joint venture Transtron Corporation last 2022.
GATEX optimizes operations management for over 570,000 units and constitutes a backbone of Isuzu’s advanced solutions, such as the PREISM Maintenance Program and MIMAMORI Telematics System.
In developing SDVs, the intention is to allow real-time data usage, optimize energy management for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and Fuel Cell Vehicles (FCVs), and reduce CO₂ emission levels.
This partnership will be central to Isuzu’s innovation investment of ¥1 trillion with the intent to largely support the company’s transformation into a commercial mobility solutions provider by 2030.
Fujitsu will also offer its Uvance business model to the partnership, further stressing solutions around digitally addressing societal challenges. Under that framework, the two companies would co-create an autonomous-ready, connected future services next-generation logistics infrastructure platform.
This confirms that Isuzu and Fujitsu take the lead into smart mobility, which is marked towards making meaningful changes in the efficiency of transport, environmental sustainability, and digital innovation.
