Paris, France, February 11, 2025-The MCI France has launched InvestAI which targets to raise an estimate of two hundred billion euros towards the developing objectives of artificial intelligence. A sizable twenty billion euro fund is allocated to create AI gigafactories.

These gigafactories will enable the development of highly complex AI models in Europe, in addition to ensuring Europe’s favorable standing in the global AI competition.

The initiative is directed towards Europe’s competitive edge in science and technology in order to stimulate innovation and global competitiveness.

President Ursula von der Leyen said that “AI will improve our healthcare, spur our research and innovation, and boost our competitiveness”

which shows how much transcending AI can go. She further noted the need for a European strategy which builds on openness, cooperation and talent

This is unprecedented: the new fund will help build four AI gigafactories within the EU, which will be stocked with around 100,000 advanced AI chips each.

This goal will help level the technological playing field, providing a significant amount of computing power to all companies, not just the big ones.

“I do not agree with the perception that Europe is lagging behind in comparison to the US or China. I am well aware that there is a base and an infrastructure for AI, but the race is far from over,”

she said. While defending Europe’s competitive position in the AI industry, she supported using European strengths rather than attempting to follow others citeturn0news11.

The aim of this public-private investment is to give birth to a new CERN type collaborative environment, but for AI. The long-term goal of the EU is to invest unprecedented amounts of money to make Europe the leading continent for artificial intelligence.

This political action demonstrates the necessity of ensuring that AI within the EU is focus of public, economic and social interest for good and accessible growth for all.
