Ericsson, Volvo, and Airtel to Revolutionize Indian Manufacturing with 5G & AI
India, 18th March 2025 – Ericsson, Volvo Group, and Bharti Airtel have announced a groundbreaking research partnership to transform India’s manufacturing sector. This collaboration aims to explore the potential of cutting-edge technologies like Extended Reality (XR), Digital Twins, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in industrial operations, all powered by advanced 5G networks.
The research will take place at the Volvo Group Factory and R&D Centre in Bangalore. It will focus on futuristic applications such as blending physical and digital worlds through Industrial Metaverse use cases. These innovations are expected to enhance operational efficiency, foster innovation, and provide immersive training platforms for workers.
Airtel’s 5G advanced network will play a central role in this initiative, offering ultra-low latency and high-speed connectivity. This will enable real-time simulations, design prototyping, and seamless training processes across multiple industrial sites. The ability to test “what if” scenarios without disrupting actual operations is set to redefine production workflows.
